Tyler on Training: Open vs. Concealed Carry
Today Tyler talks about a topic that can stir strong feelings on both sides. Open vs. concealed carry. Like anything, rather than just going on your own personal preference, you should look at the advantages and disadvantages for each. The advantage of open carry is that you can get your gun out faster, which you will need, because one of the biggest disadvantages is that everyone will know you have it.
With concealed carry, no one knows, or should know that you are carrying, so you won’t draw un needed attention to yourself. Yes, it might take a slight second longer to get your gun out, but you will also have the element of surprise. One thing that you can do in relation to open vs. concealed carry is look at some of the surveillance video footage on robberies or attacks and see what happens in real life scenarios. Active Self Protection, again, is a great resource for this, as they have a crazy amount of such footage.
So, whether you carry open or concealed, it is a good idea to do your own research on your preferred way to carry and learn from real world scenarios to make your method as safe as possible.
