Discovery is the exchange of information between the parties involved. In a self defense case, it would be between the prosecution and the defense attorneys.
Some of the things that would be in Discovery would be police reports, witness statements, any statements made by the defendant, lab reports, autopsy reports, toxicology, ballistic reports, crime scene reports, and evidence logs to name a few.
